Hello! I'm Jamie and I am the owner and main personal trainer of J-Rad Fitness. I have been in the fitness industry since 2015 after I fell in love with the way strength training made me feel both mentally and physically.
I am a Certified Personal Trainer with credentials through both the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the American Council of Exercise (ACE). I also hold an Exercise Nutrition Specialization through ACE. This means I not only have a base on how the body works and how to exercise, but also how to fix and work with different bodily dysfunctions and assist with nutrition. I have worked as a personal trainer for the past four years after being unhappy in a desk job. What most don't know about me is that I have undergone a transformation of my own body, going from a size 13 to a size 7 so I understand the psychology behind weight loss and exercise from a personal standpoint.
My clients tell me I'm tough but like to to have fun at the same time. I won't yell at you, but I will make sure you're working hard to the fullest extent of your ability. Are you completely new to the gym and need to take it a little slower? You've got it. I don't run sessions like certain famous weight loss TV shows. Have a dream to squat your body weight? Do you want to just walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded? Let's do it!
I like circuit training where I mix a little cardio with strength training but the style of your session depends on your goals. If you're looking for a trainer to take you from machine to machine and do the same workout every session, I'm not the right trainer for you. If you want someone who screams at you or pushes you until you throw up, look elsewhere. Do you want to be the best you that you can be? Now we're talking!! You never know what I may throw at you each time you walk in the door but you can guarantee it'll be a workout geared toward your goals.
I don't have one specific type of client because I know how to adapt to different situations. I train men and women from teenagers to those in their 70's. Some of my clients are working toward weight loss, others are working on putting on muscle, and some are focused on functional fitness to prevent future injuries and build functional strength.
A niche I have found myself edging more and more into is post rehab training. Many of my clients have had major health concerns that we've overcome and thrived past including cancer, diabetes, and neurological diseases. These are the clients that I feel most fulfilled assisting, but I love training everyone!
